LELAN STATOM
Lelan Statom is instantly recognizable as NewsChannel 5’s senior meteorologist. Mr. Statom has been with the station for more than 30 years.
He and his wife Yolanda, a local college professor and educator, have raised two successful children while living and working in Nashville.
Mr. Statom’s love of weather and the outdoors can be traced to his childhood spent in Dyersburg, Tennessee, where he first developed a passion for science and our environment through his experiences in farm country and even establishing his own DIY version of a weather station in his backyard!
